K WEEK INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ORIENTATION

FROM THE MOMENT YOU ARRIVE AT THE LEXINGTON AIRPORT, you will experience K Week International Student Orientation, which will prepare you for life as a wildcat!

Following K Week International Orientation, UK hosts New Student Orientation for all incoming students. It’s a week of fun with events that celebrate every new University of Kentucky student. With free t-shirts and food at almost every event, the hardest decision is picking what to do next!
Living at the University of Kentucky
YOUR UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY experience doesn’t end when class lets you out for the day. Campus Housing offers students 21 unique residence halls across three neighborhoods. Each residence hall is equipped with study areas, kitchens, laundry and vending spaces, and recreational rooms. With large couches and big screen TVs in every lobby, you’re sure to feel right at home.

The University of Kentucky has finished a $460 million housing project, opening brand new residence halls that offer state-of-the-art, high-tech living, learning and research spaces to propel the work of students, faculty and staff. With a $201 million Student Center opening in 2018, students will be better equipped than ever before.

CAMPUS RECREATION

As a University of Kentucky student, you’ll find a rich community of sports, clubs and activities outside the classroom buildings.

The Johnson Center offers facilities available for basketball‚ weight training and conditioning‚ group fitness classes‚ climbing‚ volleyball‚ badminton‚ jogging‚ racquetball‚ and wallyball.

The Lancaster Aquatic Center contains lightning fast competition swimming courses and world class diving facilities.

UK also offers several outdoor recreation areas for basketball, tennis, baseball, soccer, and many other outdoor activities. Many students join intramural teams and compete in sports such as flag football and badminton.

Scholarships
THE OFFICE OF FINANCIAL AID AWARDS MORE THAN $1 MILLION ANNUALLY
The University of Kentucky offers several scholarships to students with an outstanding record of academic excellence:

International Ambassador Scholarships

From $3,000 to 50% of tuition; competitive; renewable. ​
DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 15

Academic Scholarships

Bluegrass Spirit Scholarship - Starting at $8,000 per year, for up to four years of undergraduate study.
Minimum ACT score is 25 or SAT (M+CR) is 1200
Min. GPA 3.00 unweighted high school GPA.
DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 15

Diversity Scholarship

Average of $5,000 per year; competitive; renewable.
Minimum GPA 2.5
DEADLINE: DECEMBER 1

Departmental Scholarships

SAT is optional (required for engineering and academic scholarships)

CONDITIONAL ADMISSION

International undergraduate applicants who meet UK’s academic requirements for admission but do not meet the minimum language proficiency requirement may be offered conditional admission. Conditionally admitted students can complete the language requirement in UK’s Center for English as a Second Language.
